I have narrowed down my choices to three: Bearblog, Mataroa, and Micro.blog. On pricing, Mataroa leads with its $9 p e r y e a r o p t i o n . F r e e a c c o u n t s g e t a l l f e a t u r e s e x c e p t c u s t o m d o m a i n s a n d e x p o r t s . B e a r b l o g i s a l s o a t t r a c t i v e w i t h i t s$ 5 monthly, $48 y e a r l y, a n d$ 199 lifetime upgrade options. It also has regional pricing discounts. Ignoring the Premium and Family tiers, Micro.blog has their dead simple $5 a m o n t h o p t i o n a n d a$ 50 a year option. Micro.blog seems to be the most interesting with its discoverability and social features. It seems to encourage exploration and reading like in the blogging days of the early 2000s. Mataroa does not have these discoverability features. This is good if you simply want to focus on writing and publishing. It allows you to focus on your own thoughts and words. Bearblog sits in the middle with a simple discover page containing only post titles. No images nor Timeline-like page like Micro.blog has.

Bearblog seems to tick more boxes for me but I don't know why I want to try Mataroa more than the others. Micro.blog's discoverability, replies, and other social features are all interesting though.
